Twitter Revelations: Parent Edition

• Mum: I saw your tweets while you were in Auckland.
• Me: … what?
• Mum: Yes, I was on the NZ Herald website looking through their photos at that thing you went to. I wanted to see if you were in any of them.
• Me: WHAT???
• Mum: Your tweets were on their website. All mofo this and mofo that.
• Me: … *speechless*
• Mum: You and Russell Bailey seemed to spend more time tweeting than enjoying yourselves.
• Me: … *speechless with a look of despair*
• - this awkward conversation was had the night following the Auckland Laneway, and followed a day where I’d almost missed my flight back to Wellington, had almost no sleep in four days, still suffered a throbbing hangover, had fronted a select committee hearing that afternoon on a bill I didn’t really understand, all only to culminate in a sudden and urgent need to pee.
